Haiti Disaster Relief

Here are some ways to help!

Below are three trusted organizations known to be offering on the ground assistance.  Their websites offer all the information you need.   The only one which you can contribute to through the church is the Presbyterian Disaster Relief.

Presbyterian Disaster Relief

Prayers are requested for the people of Haiti… The PCUSA is still contacting its many partners in the country, and has set a $1,000,000 goal for assistance to Haiti.  You can give through CHPC, making the check out to the church, with DR000064 in the memo line, or by going to the denomination’s website, www.pcusa.org/pda.  You can find updates on what PDR is doing to help at the same page on the website.

Fonkoze

from Alex Counts

Dear Members and Friends of Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church,

Please check the Fonkoze website www.fonkoze.org which has daily updates on the situation on the ground and the response being organized here in the United States.  If you have questions, you can send to me and I will try to respond.  Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers – keep them coming too!

Sincerely,
Alex Counts

Partners In Health

In an urgent email from Port-au-Prince, Louise Ivers, PIH clinical director in Haiti, appealed for assistance from her colleagues in the Central Plateau: “Port-au-Prince is devastated, lot of deaths. SOS. SOS… Temporary field hospital by us at UNDP needs supplies, pain meds, bandages. Please help us.”
We are still in the midst of collecting information from all our sites in Haiti, and determining how we can best help with the recovery efforts in the areas hardest hit.
